Buddhist monasteries in Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh is an enchanting tourist resort of northeast India. This destination offers scenic beauty natural, rich in wildlife and beautiful Buddhist monasteries. This land has several wonderful Buddhist monasteries. Some of the famous Buddhist monasteries of Arunachal Pradesh are:
Bomdila Monastery
This is a famous attraction in Arunachal Pradesh. Built in 1965, is home to the Buddhist lamas and monks. It was established by the 12th reincarnation of Tsong Gontse Rinpoche. Ghent also named as lling Rabgyel Gaden monastery, Mahayana Buddhism preaches. His architecture resembles the monastery Tson Tson Gontse in Tibet. Tawang Monastery
Located amid picturesque surroundings, is the largest Buddhist monastery in Asia. Located in the district of Twang at an altitude of 10,000 feet, leaving the visitors mesmerized by the breathtaking views of the Himalayas. It was built in the 17th century by a lama from Bhutan. The assembly hall is a giant statue of Buddha. Thangkas is decorated with beautiful murals. Painted windows colors are decorated with other attractions in the same. There is also a library housing here a rich collection of writings, thangka, manuscripts and images. One has to cross the Sela pass to reach the monastery. It is the passage passable second highest in the world.
Urguelling Monastery
Built century 15 per Urged Sangpo is a beautiful monastery located 5 km from the town of Tawang. This city is the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso. The monastery is full of pure historical importance. Attached by the Mongols in the 18th century. To protect the statues and scriptures written in gold and silver, which were transported from here to Tawang Monastery. Later Urguelling Monastery was restored in 1699.
