How much is this sword worth?
My dad gave me a sword that was in his garage and i would like to know where it is from, or when. Any info is awsome.
Description:
The handle is made of a brown wood
The wood is carved to look like a snake and a head.
The crossguard is made of a gold metal with asian words on it, one on each side.
The blade is silver with brown dots zig-zagging down to the point.
The sleth is made of the same matierial as the handle of the sword, wood, i think.
There is a dragon carved into it and a bird eating a leaf on the other side.
THANKS!!
Well , it depends on how old it is . It might cost a fortune if, let`s say , it`s from the Middle Ages , but it seems quite modern . Look at how many claws does the dragon have. In Ancient times (if indeed it`s from ancient times), only emperors had decorations with dragons that had 5 claws , 4 was for somebody like a general ( or a soldier ...I can`t say exactly) and 3 was for ordinary people. So if it has 5 , it means it belonged to an emperor, provided that it`s originally from China / Japan
But even if it`s not... the gold and silver on it must value something...
