what color carpet and walls would look good with this?

this is a bedroom set that im getting for my graduation (hopefully) but im not sure on what i want to do with the rest of my bedroom! it has a dark trim, white walls, and an ugly carpet that needs to be replaced. I'm thinking of having my bedroom be more zen, and somewhat nature inspired (not themed! i just have a pet bamboo plant that i would love to have in my room) and i also have a blue wall scroll that i would like to keep, so maybe neutral colors would be good?
I'm just not sure on the colors i should choose, and any ideas on bedding would be great too! I just cant paint over the dark wood trim!!!
I think you should go with wooden floor but if you must have carpet, choose a neutral color that is not warm or golden, go for cooler beige tones, off whites and light taupe. Before you decide on the wall paint, look for a bedding first. Once you have the bedding, it will be easier to decide on the wall paint.
For the bedding, modern geometric or organic pattern that is not too busy. Look for light shades of blues and greens.
