Can someone please translate these Japanese (?) Characters. . .?
This inscription is in the flavor of what is probably a Japanese sword was World War II: http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7905/dsc0149c.jpg'm sorry if the picture shows the characters upside down or sideways, but do not know how to display. Thanks.
Yes, it's sideways. The right side should be at the top and read from top to bottom. 兼 光 作 iw how written. 兼 光 is the name of the person who made the sword and who by means 作.
