If the armies of ancient West met with the armies of the Ancient East, who would win?
Has or may have the best chance survival. Western armies: the Greek Phalanx. The armies of Macedonia The Persian legions armies The armies of Egypt The Carthaginian / Army Phoenician. Armies of the East: The armies of India (Maurya Empire) The armies of China (Han), Japanese riders Estepa (Wo Dynasty) Which of these people that have the highest survival rate, or military fort. (Putting each on top of power) That's what I was thinking, but the East would be a much larger number to pull them. @ Mystery you want to talk, send me an email. But not now. I'm going to bed. The 3 am, and I'm tired.
Hi, I'm going to make comparisons of the armies at its peak. Well let's minimize the prime numbers. For Western armies, Roman legions are, obviously, the best of all but the Macedonians, but if we compare both at their best Romans easily crush the Macedonians. (For example, it would be unfair to compare the principles of Roman troops to the Spartans at their best (before the defeat of Thebes) For the Eastern armies, atop the Chinese are superior, not only wider range, better technology, but also the recruitment and perhaps some of the greatest heroes. Since it is relatively close to the three periods do not forget the famous Lu Bu and heroes, such as Zhao Yun, etc and the intelligent Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi. So it is basically chinese Roman vs So I have a link to find more information on your own: http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=92&nav=messages&webtag=ab-militaryhist&tid=395 http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index .php/t-18425.html http://forums http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-14189.html. In filefront.com/history-warfare/323509-romans-vs-china.html To be fair to a little bias, I would say that the Chinese have the victory. They not only have some of the best strategists in the world has known, the best heroes and a great army (only some problems are inexperienced and ill to fight, but many are also good) Of course it also depends on where they fought. If China had internal problems or not - a united China is very very strong. It's an award in my opinion, alongst conquest and the unity of a united Europe. In general, the Chinese are very defensive, while the Romans are masters of site, but let's not forget that the Chinese had a great fire power - more than any other of the Romans found, while the Chinese are also some of Roman tactics, such as the use of rectangle shield also difficult to control if close in hand to hand combat. However, the Chinese also had great cavalry and spearmen so ... Chinese armies had peasent Professional and mass armies. The Romans relied on his mercenaries and infantry. Romans were feeding the fire weak (in terms of archers, etc) and the cavalry, the Romans had gathered a force Greek heavy cavalry of Alexander Greeks won ...
