Cat Communication
Biting
Cats bite of contentment, joy, hunger, and other emotions. When a cat is happy, the cat may sometimes make a weak and harmless bite many owners refer to as a "pinch." Pinching kissing seems to be similar to human and as such will be accompanied by other gestures of affection (depending on the cat) include purring, the erection of the tail, whiskers forward, rubbing his face in the nearby objects, arching of the back when patted, lick, etc.
A common misconception is that all the tweaking is affectionate. When a cat becomes irritated or tired of being patted (eg, rubbed the wrong way, irritated by static electricity, that pain, wanting to sleep or just want to be alone), the cat may stop cutting and start to bite. The crucial difference is that the bite be more difficult than a pinch, but rarely going to be painful, cat and other symptoms of irritation when patted (for example, stopped purring, tail-eyed or expression hardened, and not vertical the body (often beating), stiffened, whiskers and ears pointed backwards, sliding the blade in his hand caressing before or immediately after the bite).
Playful clawing and biting often happens when teasing a cat (especially a kitten) with your fingers or a toy. The cat will lunge at the toy (or fingers manipulating the toy) and possibly claw or bite. The clawing and biting at times is painful but rarely causes injury - whether the Cat has once again overcome with excitement or, especially in the case of kittens, still learning can hurt others. The intention of the cat is still one of affection and joy (whiskers forward, "he said, purring, recognition of other obvious the game.) It is recommended that if humans are bitten, it should bleep which suggests the pain and the signing of a "NO" followed by ignoring the cat for ten minutes.
Aggressive biting is evidently intended to cause harm. Domestic cats rarely bite with harmful intentions. However, if the cat feel anger or a human being (even a friend) may create a risk of death for some reason, the cat may respond with aggression. An injured cat may bite defensively when approached. A cat, when nursing the kittens can also be aggressive when it came before the cat has introduced its own kittens. [Citation needed]
Purr
Main article: Purr
Purring is often understood to mean the happiness. However, one theory is that not a sign of relaxation that displays the content, but rather an attempt to "friendship" or a sign of "intent specific. The purr sometimes accompanied by a tremor of the tail. It can be a sign of affection to his owner and / or others around them. This is the most effective way a cat shows happiness, though the cat may also begin to knead and ready for bed and naps.
Although in general, purring is the easiest way to take the satisfaction of a cat is not always a sure indicator that the cat is happy. Cats also purr when they are sick, or over time, traumatic and painful moments. When suddenly and violently injured, even at times close to death, usually a cat purring. Recent theories assume that purring is caused by the release of endorphins in the brain. Endorphins produce a feeling of wellbeing and a decrease pain.
Meowing
A cat meowing
"Meow" redirects here. For other uses, see Meow (disambiguation).
The 'Meow' (also spelled 'meow' 'Miow', 'meow', 'MROW "or" Miao ") is a vocalization used by the kittens from a request signal his mother. Adult cats usually do not meow to each other, and so the meowing of human beings who have domestic cats is likely in part an extension of the use of this signal whining, this time to a caregiver is not related to a different species. When communicating with humans, adult cats express variations this tone to demand food or attention, registration of complaints and convey bewilderment. A slight alteration in the changes of tone, rhythm and punctuation the meaning.
While cats occasionally vocalize to one another with purrs, growls, and screams usually communicate with each other through body language. When preparing to fight against an opponent or to chase one, meowing cats can deliver long, articulated. Most communities recognize as "meow" are specifically for human interaction.
Other noises
A cat hissing and arching back so that it looks bigger.
Most cats growl or hiss when angered or in danger, which serves to warn offending parties. If the warning is not heeded, a more or less serious attack may follow. Some tweaking may engage in behavior or batting with their paws, either with claws extended or retracted. With cats that are not well socialized and do not know their own strength, this can result in unintended harm to human skin. Like any injury, cat scratches can become infected, and in extreme cases can lead to cat-scratch fever.
Some cats are inhaled (exhale hard), after a determined effort to take something has fallen short. Cats also are known for making grinding or rattling noises when observing prey, or as a means expression of interest in a subject close to humans. When traveling to out of the dam to reach, do not know if this is a threatening sound, an expression of emotion or frustration, or an attempt to replicate a bird call (or replicate the call of a bird of prey, for example a cicada). [Citation] Need
Although this behavior was initially viewed as the feline equivalent of the song, recent animal behaviorists have come to believe this noise is a "behavior test "which anticipates or practices the killing of prey, because the sound usually accompanies a biting movement similar to that used to kill their prey (the" Bite mortal "which saws through the neck vertebrae of the victim).
A kind of whistle, the [citation needed] chudder, is used as a greeting. Tigers also use this sound. Some cats also can growl when given attention. The growl seems to always be modulated with a purr, making it a kind of meowing with his mouth closed affection. Glad cats sleeping make soft sounds buzz, similar to the sighs, when stroked.
The cry of a cat in heat is called Caterwaul.
Cats in close contact with humans use vocalization more often than cats living in nature, the reason is that homeowners are very responsive to cat vocalizations, which reinforces the behavior. Adult cats rare in nature After vocalizing, but the use of language all over the body and smell to communicate.
Body language

Main article: Cat Body Language
Cats contraction of the tip of the tail when hunting or angry, while larger shocks may also indicate dissatisfaction and their tails when contraction play. A tail held high is a sign of happiness, or can be used as a greeting to humans or other cats (usually close relatives) while half-raised shows less pleasure, and unhappiness is indicated with a tail held low. A scared or surprised cat may inflate its tail, the hair along the back can stand up cat and turn your body sideways to a threat to increase its apparent size [citation needed]. cats without tails, like the Isle of Man, which have only a small piece a movement stub tail around as if it had a full tail, though not as communicative as that of a full tail cat. Touching noses is a friendly greeting for cats, while a lowered head is a sign of submission. Some cats will rub their faces along their guardian's cheek or ankles as a friendly greeting or sign of affection. This action is also sometimes a way to "mark their territory," leaving a smell of the scent glands located on the cheek of a cat. More commonly, cats do something called a head "Bonk" or "clerk" where, literally, hit someone with the front of his head to express affection.

Cats also lick people and therefore each others (eg, owners). Cats lick each other with the groom and join (This preparation is usually done in cats that are well known.) Also People sometimes lick for similar reasons. These reasons include wanting to "groom" and show people I care and affection. When cats are happy, we know that leg of his human companion, or a soft object on which you can sit with a kneading motion also called "fill", "rhythm" "Sponge", "childish," "spiders happy," "cookie" or "needle legs." Cats often use this action humming along to show the joy and affection of his teammates. Other times it can be when the cat is in pain or death, as a method of rewarding itself. It is instinctive for cats, who use it when they are young to stimulate the mother cat's chest to release the milk during lactation. As a result, cats reared hand by humans may lack this reflex. Kicking is also a way for cats to mark their territory. The scent glands on the lower legs release small amounts of odor to the person or object being pawed, marking as "theirs" in the same way that they urinate to mark their territory.
Yawning ahead of teammate and blinking behavior is common in cats and may be a sign of confidence or affection. Some cats respond to a human being who yawns dramatically or close and open your eyes by exchange action [citation needed]. Rollover on the back and exposing its belly is a sign of confidence however, this should not be confused with a similar defensive position. Other signs of confidence are rubbing their bodies in one when the cat is happy or wants something, rubbing his paws on you, or sleep with you, even when is not your normal sleep time (which means you feel comforted enough to you that wants to sleep with you.)
