Old China (porcelain) with Chinese stamp 西 意 興 正 品 出 Help me figure out what this means, do you speak chine?
Hi,
I found some pieces of an old china set. There is a brownish-red stamp or mark at the bottom. The mark is in a diamond shape. The diamond is divided into three rows.
The bottom row looks like this:
品 出
The middle row looks like this:
意 興 正
The very top row looks like this:
西 (with a character here that is unreadable)
Please help me translate this within the context of the characters (e.g. no babel fish type translations)
Thank you bunches ![]()
I figured out the characters by looking through a list of the most common Chinese characters. I determined it was Chinese because it looked similar to, and shared characters with some Chinese porcelain on gotheborg.com. I would like to know the name of the factory... Could that be what doesn't make sense on the middle row?
one picture is worth of a thousand words...
西 = west or a part of a word like 西藏 = Tibet
意興正 = "enthusiasm" + "correct" that makes no sense
品出 = product
